How To Insert Amazon Associate Code into a Squarespace Blog
Congratulations on becoming an Amazon Associate!
Here’s how to insert Amazon Associate HTML Code into a Squarespace Blog and format the blog.
1. Set up your editorial blog strategy. What do you want to blog about? Is there relevant products to recommend? I know a lot of business owners that are subject matter experts on products. Use your expertise to make a referral fee from Amazon. Need an editorial strategy? We can help with that.
2. Become an Amazon Associate here…. Click here to sign up.
3. Inserting a code block is a Premium feature that is available in Business and Commerce plans:
4. Open up a browser tab for Amazon.com, Amazon Associates and your Squarespace website
5. In Squarespace Create a New Blog Post
6. Cruise around Amazon for relevant products to your blog. I am going with business office lamps as my example.
7. Find the ASIN code
8. Plug the ASIN code into the Amazon Associates site
Time Saver Tip, collect all your ASIN codes and images in advance prior to blogging
9. Select Text and Image, Text or Image. I’m going with Image for the example.
10. Format your blog, here is what I did. I inserted a big image. Under it, I inserted 2 space bars, then dragged and dropped the space bar to make 2 columns. Then I inserted the code block under the left hand column, and a text box under the right hand column. Then I copied the HTML code from Amazon Associates and pasted into the code area.
11. Then I wrote up some text
12. Finish up the blog by uploading a thumbnail image and except text (shows up in your blog listing)
13. Edit the Squarespace settings for SEO, Social, Share and Location
14. Save & Publish!
